The Eastern Woodland Caribou is a study in resourcefulness and survival. One of the last surviving herds south of the boreal zone is found in the Gaspésie, and particularly on Mont Jacques-Cartier.

Their very name, Xalibu, in the Mi’kmaq tongue, means “one who paws the ground,” in reference to the animals’ ability to scrape through heavy snow and ice to find the mosses and lichens which form their diet.

They survive and thrive where others cannot because they know and use their unique inborn characteristics, which amongst professionals we call “Giftings.”
